
Ingredients:
- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
Tomato sauce:
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb Italian sausage
- 1 yellow diced onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 36 oz marinara sauce
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Cheese Mixture:
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzerella cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded parmesan
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cook lasagna noodles
- Brown beef, sausage, onion, and garlic. Drain fat.
- Stir in pasta sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt. and 1/4 tsp pepper. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
- Spread 1 cup of meat sauce in a 9×13 pan. Top with 3 lasagna noodles. Layer with 1 cup of ricotta cheese mixture and 1 cup of meat sauce. Repeat twice more. Finish with 3 noodles and remaining sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake 45 minutes
- Remove foil and sprinkle lasagna with 2 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered for additional 15 minutes. Broil 2-3 minutes if desired.
